Designing Your Ketubah Text

Typefaces, careful typesetting, and text approval, with decorative verses kept outside the ketubah wording.

The artwork begins with a ketubah print on high-quality fine-art paper, creating a complete and impressive piece in its own right. For those seeking a personal touch, we offer a range of hand-finished details, from subtle highlights to luxurious finishes, tailored to your style, taste, and budget.

The ketubah text carries great halachic importance, so every word and detail must be handled carefully and accurately. We recommend preparing and approving the wording well in advance, so you can approach your special day calmly and with peace of mind.

After choosing your ketubah design and sending us the approved wording, including the names of the bride and groom and all other required details, we begin designing and typesetting the text within the artwork.

We will present a selection of typefaces so you can choose the style that suits you. We then arrange the text clearly, accurately, and beautifully, and send you a detailed preview for review. Printing begins only after receiving final approval from you and the officiating rabbi.

Traditional Lettering on Parchment

If you choose natural parchment of the type used for a Torah scroll, you may select a traditional Hebrew lettering style, including Ashkenazi or Sephardi script. These styles give the ketubah an authentic, dignified, and timeless appearance.

You may also commission a qualified scribe to work over the lettering according to the approved text. This handwork gives the letters depth, vitality, and subtle dimension, creating a special work that will endure for many years.

You may, of course, choose any other typeface that suits your taste and the design you selected.

Verses, Names, and Gold Accents

A verse of your choice can be incorporated into the border, ornamentation, or painting, adding personal meaning to the design. Verses appear only in the artwork surrounding the ketubah wording; the ketubah text itself remains separate and unchanged.

Names, dates, dedications, or special headings can be incorporated into the surrounding artwork. Selected details may be highlighted in 24-karat gold.

Every detail can be personalized, from the typeface and text arrangement to verses, dedications, and gold ornamentation. We are here to guide you and create a ketubah that is accurate, dignified, and uniquely yours.
